It’s my second week in Australia and 11 of us joined the add-on tour to do a road trip down the Great Ocean Road. This four-day road trip adventure was packed with hikes, nature sightings, and car karaoke – it’s definitely a trip you wouldn’t want to miss!
Day 1
On Day 1, we kicked off the trip by collecting our cars and driving to the lovely coastal town of Tourquay. We basked in the sun at the beach and explored the Rip Curl outlet – the brand’s birthplace. We also indulged in ice cream at the Great Ocean Road Chocolate Factory, visited the Split Point Lighthouse, and marvelled at the Erskine Falls. Due to the rainy weather, we retreated to our hostel in Apollo Bay.

Day 2
Day 2 began with a refreshing rainforest walk at Maits Rest. We then embarked on the Green Coast Drive and stopped by famous landmarks like Gibsons Steps, 12 Apostles, and London Bridge. We also had a scrumptious lunch in Port Campbell, visited The Grotto, and stayed in the oldest hostel in Australia in Port Fairy.

Day 3
On Day 3, we woke up early to visit Tower Hill National Park, where we saw a koala and kangaroos. We then visited the Budj Bim UNESCO site, which showcased a dormant volcano. Our next stop was the Mackenzie Falls, where we nearly encountered an Emu. We capped off the day by hiking to The Pinnacle at The Grampians and watching the sunset at The Balconies.

Day 4
Finally, on Day 4, we headed back to Melbourne, filled with awe and unforgettable memories from the trip.
