Byron Bay – My Favourite Place So Far. Last week I took an overnight bus from Sydney to Byron Bay, and I have to say, it’s been my favourite place so far in Australia. Sure, the journey was a bit tiring, and I missed the shuttle bus, which meant I had to walk 25 minutes to my hostel with my bag, resulting in a lot of sweat. But when I arrived, I was greeted by a beautiful beach right opposite my hostel. It was the perfect place to chill after a long journey. I had nothing booked apart from a dolphin kayak tour, which sadly got cancelled.

So, I spent my time lounging on the beach and even attempted to swim in the sea, which just ended up with me getting wiped out. But it was all good fun, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I woke up at 5 am and sat on the beach to watch the sunrise, my favourite thing to do. The town had good shops and was small, which made it easy to navigate. I also walked to the Cape Byron Lighthouse, which had amazing views, and I highly recommend it. You could rent bicycles from the hostel, which we did, and it was a bit of a disaster but all fun, we rode around town and almost got lost!

And then there was the night out. Now, there are no clubs in Byron Bay, but if you’ve been, you know the place to go to is The Piano Bar. There are two piano players, and you can request songs.
It gets a bit mental, but it’s a fun night full of dancing and singing.

And to top it off, there’s a pie shop across the road that serves the best pies ever. I spent five nights in Byron Bay, and I honestly didn’t want to leave. The wildlife was great, with so many beautiful birds. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, and I can’t wait to go back.
If you’re looking for a laid-back and beautiful town, then Byron Bay is the place for you.
