Unveiling the Magnetic Charm of Magnetic Island! Magnetic Island is a small island a short ferry ride from Townsville. It’s full of Barbie cars, koalas and stunning beaches. I stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time chilling out and exploring what the island had to offer.

Selina

I stayed at Selina, a hostel/ campsite, it’s also a shared working space hostel. I got a free upgrade to my own private hut which was heavenly! The hostel was beautiful and had a really nice chill vibe to it. It offered an array of activities from yoga to sunrise walks and breakfast with koalas. The first morning I was there I got up at 5 am and embarked on a organised walk called the Fort Walk, we watched the sunrise and it was a great way to start the day.

I went to Geoffery Bay to try and find the Rock Wallabies but somehow didn’t find them even though everyone else did! I then went on a long walk around the island just taking in its beauty. On my last morning, I had breakfast with Koalas. This included a yummy breakfast buffet and whilst we ate the park ranger brought out an array of animals, from Lizards to Snakes, a Wombat and then a Koala!

I then got the ferry back to Townsville and hopped on the Greyhound bus to my next destination!
